Better Software Faster
Dan Haywood was the co-author with Andy Carmichael of Better Software Faster, explaining how to make the most effective use of TogetherJ. Ed Yourdon wrote in his forward:
In the best of all worlds, every IT professional and every business person who wants an IT system would read Better Software Faster.
Which is a little flamboyant, but was nice to read from such a distinguished source.
J2EE Book
Dan Haywood also contributed 4 chapters on EJB to the SAMS Book, Teach Yourself J2EE in 21 Days (since revised to J2EE 1.4)
Online Articles
With Richard Pawson and Rob Matthews of the Naked Objects Group, Dan contributed a series of articles on Naked Objects to TheServerSide.com, a leading website devoted to Enterprise Java development. These drew good - and some sceptical - reaction. (We consider our convictions proven with the successful implementation of the Irish Government's Pension system).
A number of other articles have been published, in print or on the web. TheServerSide.com published an opinion piece on MDA, the British Institute of Engineering printed an article contrasting agile development with traditional waterfall development, and the Java Developer's Journal published an article exploring a way to simulate AspectJ-style mixins in Java.
